چکیده
related homeobox 1 gene, Prrx1, are up-regulated in the autopods of the bat wing compared to the bat hindlimb and mouse forelimb. Changes in the mRNA transcript abundance of several genes involved in retinoic acid (RA) synthesis, degradation and signaling were consistent with the down-regulation of the RA signaling pathway in the developing bat wing autopod. Signal from a microarray probe targeting the 5 0 UTR of the Meis homeobox 2 (Meis2) mRNA transcript, showed the greatest difference in expression in the bat wing compared to bat hindlimb and mouse forelimb. This difference was not seen for a probe complementary to the Meis2 C-terminal coding region. The up-regulation of a Meis2 isoform lacking a C-terminal homeodomain may play an important role in the sculpting of bat wings during development.

متن کاملEffects of blastocoelic expansion and plasminogen activator activity on hatching and zona pellucida solubility in bovine embryos in vitro.
Two experiments were conducted to evaluate factors affecting zona pellucida (ZP) solubility in bovine embryos during hatching in vitro. In Exp. 1, the relationship between blastocoelic expansion and ZP solubility was determined. Day-6 embryos (n = 42) with good or excellent quality grades were cultured (Cultured embryos), whereas embryos of fair quality (Not-cultured embryos) were immediately p...

Equine embryos were recovered nonsurgically 6.5 d after ovulation (Exp. 1) and those >200 tim were stored in one of three media: 1) Ham's F10 + 10% fetal calf serum (FCS) under 5% CO 2 , 5% O~and 90% No at 24 C (Ham's F10); 2) Minimal Essential Medium with Hank's balanced salts + 10% FCS in air (MEM) at 24 C or 3) MEM at 5 C n=lO/treatment). A 2 x 2 cross-classified experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of age of equine embryo (7 vs 8 d postovulation) and method of transfer (surgical vs nonsurgical) on pregnancy rates at 50 d of gestation. Embryos were recovered 7 or 8 d postovulation using a Foley catheter and 3 liters of modified Dulbecco's phosphate-buffered saline (PBS). Upon identification, the embryos were placed...
